Description
Dasypus novemcinctus
It forages by turning soil and leaf litter with its snout and claws. It eats insects, larvae, worms and other invertebrates, plus occasional small vertebrates or fruits. Its burrows can shelter other species and its digging helps mix organic matter into the soil.
