The margay is a small spotted cat strongly adapted to life in trees. It has large eyes, a very long tail and rotating ankles, an adaptation that lets it descend tree trunks with remarkable agility.

Leopardus wiedii
It lives mainly in deciduous and evergreen forests, moving through canopy and understory. It is mostly nocturnal, solitary and agile when leaping among branches. It hunts small prey, many of them arboreal, including rodents, opossums, birds, lizards and other forest animals.
