The jaguarundi is a small, long-bodied, short-legged cat with an otter-like or weasel-like shape. Its coat is plain, without spots, and may range from dark gray to brown or reddish.

Herpailurus yagouaroundi
It uses thickets, edges, wooded grasslands, humid forests and areas near water. Unlike many Neotropical cats, it is often active during the day. It feeds on small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and occasionally fish available along water edges.
