Description

Caligo memnon

It often flies at dawn or dusk and rests on trunks or leaves. Adults visit ripe or fermenting fruit; larvae may feed on plants such as heliconias, bananas and relatives. In the region it is associated with humid understory, banana plants and shaded edges.
