The kinkajou is a nocturnal mammal with a prehensile tail, large eyes and arboreal movements. Although it is a procyonid, its canopy life and fruit-rich diet make it look very different from a raccoon.

Potos flavus
It moves among branches with help from its tail, which works as an extra support. It mainly eats ripe fruit and nectar, but may also take insects and other small foods. By feeding on flowers and fruits it contributes to pollination and seed dispersal in humid forests.
