Description
Puma concolor
It is a solitary, territorial and highly adaptable predator found in dense forests, slopes, rocky terrain and more open areas. It has a rounded head, upright ears, strong forelegs and powerful hind legs for jumping and short bursts of speed. It hunts by ambush and may prey on deer, peccaries, agoutis, pacas, monkeys and other vertebrates.
