Description
Pharomachrus mocinno
It lives in humid montane forests, where it depends heavily on wild avocado and other Lauraceae fruits. It also eats insects, frogs, lizards and snails. It nests in cavities in decaying trees and makes altitudinal movements linked to food and breeding.
