Description

Agalychnis callidryas

It is nocturnal and hunts insects among leaves. It lays eggs on vegetation above water; when they hatch, tadpoles drop into the pond. Its colors can function as camouflage and as a startle display against predators. In the region it is associated with vegetation above ponds and nocturnal wetlands.
