Description
Dicotyles tajacu
It lives in groups and ranges through forests, thickets and natural feeding areas. It eats fruits, seeds, roots, fungi and other plant foods, though it may take small animals. By turning soil and leaf litter it helps aerate the ground and disperse seeds; it is also prey for jaguars and pumas.
