Description
Cuniculus paca
It lives near streams, rivers and forests with dense understory. It feeds mostly on fallen fruits, seeds and plant material, influencing forest regeneration. It often shelters in burrows and emerges at night; it is important prey for jaguars, pumas and other predators.
