Odocoileus virginianus

It uses wooded pastures, forest edges, savannas and clearings. It feeds on leaves, shoots, fruits and herbaceous plants. Males grow antlers that are periodically replaced. It is important prey for pumas and jaguars, and is most often observed at dawn or dusk.
